My problem is twofold.

I have about 100 3-5 minute M2T. clips shot in HDV Rack that need keying and output as 32bit alpha. I have Ultra2 installed on both my Quad Core with GeForce 8800 GTS Graphics card as well as my Dual Core HP Notebook with a GeForce GO7600.

Firstly, the M2T files will simply not open on my Quad, i just get the white screen in the preview. If i render them out as Uncompressed AVI from my NLE first, they open but playback is jerky at best, most of the time the image freezes until i hit a different place within the timeline where it may play for a second or so before freezing again...

However, my Notebook will open the M2T files and plays them back fine, but anytime i try to Output them as 32bit Uncompressed AVI i get the same issue that Ruth has previously posted about.

"Recording was cancelled for the following reason:

Render loop failed to render the one of the images

Error dEtail: Unspecific error
(800004005)

Troubleshooting Tips
Verify that your Windows Display Settings are set to True color (32 bit), High Color (16 bit) and True Color (24 bit) are not supported
Install updated drivers for your graphics card (from the card maker's website)
Visit www.adobe.com/support for more information"

So, either way i am screwed......
Any solutions out there?

T

Hello? ECHOECHO Echo echo...... Looks like everyone else has jumped ship along with Serious Magic!

Anyhow, for anyone that's interested.
I have worked out that my main editing machine (Quad Core) will not preview the M2T files because it is not finding an MPEG2 Codec on the system, despite me having Sony Vegas Pro/DVD Architect4.5 on the system that utilize the MainConcept MPEG2 Codec. I'm not sure why it is not picking it up but i d/loaded a trial codec that allowed me to preview the M2T so i now know that is the problem.
If anyone is able to offer a solution as to why Ultra isn't using the MainConcept Codec, that'd be great!

Cheers,

Hello Tian!

Blimey! - you don't give people much of a chance to respond do you?   Grin

This is a much smaller group than the previous one, and I would guess that people have not had the chance yet to come along and read your first post.

I do not personally have enough experience of using Ultra on different machines to be able to comment yet on your problem, but there are some regulars here that are much more clued up with the hardware/software problems and I am sure one will be along shortly with some helpful comments.

Good luck in resolving your issues and please do keep us posted as any information on problems is helpful to everyone for the future.

Hi, out of interest I have found playing back uncompressed files from a hard drive other than the one containing your system files to work quite smoothly. I have a drive that contains videos and nothing else.
As for m2t I think I remember  just renaming them to avi to work
