I have made a boat load of calls and Adobe continues to tells me that there is no way to get the activation part of the Ultra 2 program to work on Vista. I have installed and updated the software with no problems, it is just the activation that does not work. Ultra2 runs just fine and works great.

I am looking at starting a class action suit on this issue. All Adobe tells me is to spend more money and buy a bundled package I do not want or need.

The software runs under Vista. What does not work is the program that checks to see if this is legal software. It is.. I and you paid good money for it.

Anyone found a way around this problem yet? I've just bought  anew laptop that came with Vista so am going to have the same problems in re-installing.

If it can't be made to work legitimately, I will download a cracked copy of Ultra CS3 but I'd prefer to be able to use my legitimately purchased version.

For some reason, I can not seem to vote - and I can't remember if I already have, but I am still working with XP as I am on a desktop machine and a laptop which is XP also.

Come the day the laptop dies, I shall take the XP licence and port it to another machine as I can't be doing with Vista for video - (well in truth I hate Vista for everything, but we had no choice in OS for the later laptops we have)

If you have a legitimate copy of a programme and the product activation part is having a problem with a new OS it is ridiculous to expect you to buy a later version (with less features remember - flash)

Mmm.... come to think of it I can't see any reason at all why Ineed to have Visat n here other than the fact it was pre-installed. Maybe I'll take the route you suggest, wipe the hard drive and install XP instead.

Vista has been a complete nightmare for me.   My former laptop bless it's computer soul died and now I stuck with vista.   Nothing works well on that thing.   It's a waste of my time and energy.

I used my laptop as a second computer, now my desktop has XP and thank God Ghost... but my laptop vista, and I was told that even if I wanted to, I cannot install XP on the laptop.

I love my Ultra and even though my desktop crashed on me several times, I didn't  have a problem because I backed up my system with the "ghost program."

Hi Vivian,

There was a work around for Vista. I used it for quite a while before upgrading to Ultra CS3. Even posted it on this site some time ago.

Who said you can not use XP on your new system?

Just format the drive and install it! - You should even be able to use the copy of XP from your deceased laptop as it is no longer in use.

It is possible that the person meant you could not use the ghost image you made of your last system to install onto the new laptop - that possibly would not work, but I can not think of any reason why you should be unable to install XP onto any system.
