I already tried repairing and uninstalling/reinstalling Ultra. That did not help.
I did come up with one temporary fix. I found the file under "Program Files\Roxio Creator 2009 Ultimate\VideoCore 11\Filters". I renamed it to xsonic75m2ve.ax (with an "x" in front).
Now, when Ultra starts up, Roxio tries to repair the installation. When I cancel that attempt, Ultra's start-up completes successfully.
Of course, that leaves Roxio crippled, so I have to rename the file back, to use Roxio.
I supposed uninstalling Roxio from this machine, and installing it on another would provide a better solution.
However, what if someone wants both on the same machine? How can Ultra be set up to ignore that particular filter?
Perhaps someone can help me edit Ultra's CodecExcludeList.xml properly? I tried to do it, myself, by searching for the file in the registry, and noting its UIDs, and adding them to the XML file, but that did not help. Perhaps I did it wrong.
