Tutorial 13: Customizing ULTRA's static virtual sets and backgrounds
If you have ever looked at one of our fantastic virtual sets and thought to your self, “If I could only modify that background image a tiny bit, it would be perfect.” In this tutorial we will show you how to customize some of the static virtual sets and backgrounds you use with ULTRA. Keep in mind that you can only modify the static virtual set shots, so if you use a motion shot followed by a modified static shot, the logo you add would only appear in the static shot.

Tutorial 12: Using ULTRA with 720x486 Uncompressed clips.
ULTRA works great with uncompressed AVI clips, but there are some settings you should be aware of if you are using the 720x486 (ITU-R 601) format. Since ULTRA uses a 720x480, lower-field-first (DV) resolution, 486-line clips can appear distorted if these settings are not set correctly.

Tutorial 9: Adjusting for a washed-out Green Screen
If a green screen isn't lit well, it can end up looking very flat and washed out. This is because the green saturation isn't very high, and that can lead to difficulty in getting a good key. With ULTRA's color correction, we can adjust for a low saturated green screen, and get excellent keys in minutes.

Tutorial 8: Fixing those DV Jaggies
DV video has always presented some challenges for keying. The low color space and the DCT compression can make it very difficult to key cleanly in some situations. ULTRA's Vector keyer does an amazing job of keying DV sources, but there are times where a "DV artifact hit" can appear in the image. Such artifact hits come about because DV's compression is based on blocks. If a block falls on the edge of a key, it can introduce a "stair-step" in the edge of the key. This is where ULTRA's post-processing sliders can save the day.

Tutorial 4: Creating a Virtual set with a Foreground from a Digital Snapshot
Making your own virtual sets doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact any picture, any image, can be transformed in a matter of minutes into a nice virtual set. In this example we'll not only use a digital photograph as a set, we'll create a foreground element from the same photo using a paint program.
