Right then, the log in trouble has been resovled, by undoing the upgrade of the software.

Having done some more research into the matter I've discovered that there is an unfixable break with the software that allows logging in to the main site and the forum at the same time. You can read on to find out more of the gory details if you like. For now though, it's looking like we'll have to not upgrade the website software, which isn't great as it leaves it open to attack.    

At the end of last week one of my other websites (www.wbnc.org.uk ) got hacked! As a result of that I went through my other sites upgrading them to the latest version of Joomla (the software which powers this site). Sadly, there seems to be an issue with the upgrade which has resulted in the log in feature not working.

For the time being can I invite you to log in via: www.seriousmagicians.com/forum

This link takes you directly to the forum area, where the log in still works. This is not a long term solution however as you will notice that there is no navigation back to the main website. But to get you all access back to the forum it will do for now while I try and work out what's gone wrong with the log in on the main site.
